Bring your soil.

Go deep enough. Soil from the root zone, roughly 4–6 inches down — not the dry surface crust.

Keep areas separate. Beds with different histories are different soils. Bag and label them separately.

Keep it alive. A sealed bag, out of the sun, brought soon. Do not dry it out or leave it in a hot car — the biology is the thing being measured.
