Nothing is too basic.
Genuinely — the questions people apologise for asking are usually the useful ones. Call or email and you will get a real answer, usually within a day.

Goes straight to Rosalinda. Usually answered within a day.
What to include
None of this is required — but it saves a round trip.
Book a soil check or analysis
Tell us roughly what you are growing and how many separate areas you want tested. One test covers one area with one history.
Order compost or a soil drench
Let us know how much you need and whether you are picking up in Olympia or need delivery.
Join the community
Say which tier you are looking at, or just say you are interested and we will work out which one fits.
Something bigger
Market gardens, restoration projects, schools, and site assessments — describe the site and we will scope it.
Before you send a sample
How to take a good sample
Go deep enough. Take soil from the root zone, roughly 4–6 inches down — not the dry surface crust.
Keep areas separate. Beds with different histories are different soils. Bag them separately and label them.
Keep it alive. A sealed bag, out of the sun, delivered soon. Do not dry it out or bake it in a hot car — the biology is the thing being measured.
Tell us what you grow. Reference ranges depend entirely on the plants you intend to put in that ground.
Not sure? Call (360) 259-3637 before you collect anything and we will talk you through it.
